Ringtails in the San Gabe Mountains

Why do they want to confuse us? They are called ring-tailed cats, but they are not part of the cat family.

Sigh.

Sure, they are cat-sized animals, but these beasties resemble a cross between a fox and raccoon with a very bushy long tail.

A critter cam recently caught images of a ringtail snooping around the remains of a coyote up in the San Gabriel Mountains. Coyote was prolly mountain lion lunch.
