Hike and Seek in Griffith Park on Nov. 2

Hike, scavenge, snoop, seek ….

Local and national wildlife groups will be enticing kids ages 3-10 and their families to tramp around in the most urban park in the country, Griffith Park, for a communal Hike and Seek event on Saturday Nov. 2.

Sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation (with many other local groups participating), the one-day only outdoor event is part hike and part scavenger hunt along an easy 1-2 mile trail. Activity stations are set up along the way so everyone – that includes mom and dad – can learn about city critters and the great wildlife of Los Angeles.

There will be nature games and crafts, live animals, nature games and crafts, free prizes and a host of other activities aimed to entertain, engage and, hopefully, tucker out the most rambunctious of youngsters.

Maybe the best part?  NWF’s Ranger Rick will be on hand for photo ops. (Holiday cards potential, parents!)

Other groups participating at Hide and Seek include: LA Audubon, the National Park Service, Friends of Griffith Park, the Natural History Museum of LA, Wildlife Care of Ventura County, REI and more.

Register online for a discounted rate. Children 3 and older are $7, adults are $12.
